Cabanon du Lac
Seasonal bar/restaurant next to the beach at Saint Mathieu’s lake. Plastic seating, a warm, friendly service and good basic food. Normally open from April until September.

A very good restaurant on the banks of the lake at Saint Estephe, which you can walk around.

Excellent value for money (especially lunchtimes during the week) with friendly service. We've been regulars here for five years.

Mouline de La Tardoire
This is one for special occasions - though there is a remarkably good value 'formule' available weekday lunchtimes and, for a one-star Michelin restaurant, it's not as expensive as you might expect. Wonderful setting on the banks of the Tardoire, so even better when it's nice and you can eat outside.

Chez Steph
One for steak lovers. If you're with other steak lovers, treat yourself to a Côte (side) of beef to share. (Saignant if you want to eat it as the French do, 'à point' for medium or bien cuit if you like your meat brown and you don't care what people think of you. 😉)

Martin Comptoir
In the medieval streets of Limoges, discover this lovely spot for lunch with a wonderful, friendly team. Their formule de midi is, we think, exceptional, given the quality/price combination. The main menu is more expensive but worth it.
Reservation strongly recommended.
