An Evening (0r morning) Stroll

An easy 5km walk from the doorstep that can be shortened to less than 4km.

With the gite behind you, follow the lane down to the hamlet. Turn left at the junction to follow the lane through the hamlet and out the other side.

Continue to follow this lane for about 1km until you come to a large farm on your left with a chemin (green path) on your right.

Turn right down the chemin and follow this until you reach a crossroads.

Turn left and follow the waymarked route. It’ll swing right to take you up to a rather fabulous property with horses in the surrounding fields.

When you reach the property (Domaine du Loup) turn right and follow the little road that passes in front of the house until you reach another Chemin between two fields on your right. Follow this down, turning right at the end of the field.

You’ll rejoin the original path. Turn left to follow this back to the crossroads, where you turned left earlier. Keep going straight. When you reach a narrow lane, bear right here, passing a small lake behind a house on your left and wetlands to the right. (Keep your eye open here, you might see Coypu.)

Follow the lane to the road and cross straight over to follow another chemin.

Follow this chemin for about half a kilometre, turning right to follow another track back to the little road that leads into La Marchaderie. (If you reach the main road, you’ve gone too far. Retrace your steps and look for the chemin on your left.)

At the lane, turn right and follow the road back to the junction where you’ll turn left to return to La Porcherie and a well-earned glass of wine in the garden.
